I have been painting since 1983, I enjoy all mediums of painting. I have taught painting classes. I wanted to create wearable art, so silk is the perfect medium.
I mix my paint colors and use custom made racks to stretch my silk – much like a watercolor canvas. Using a variety of brushes and techniques, each silk piece is one of a kind. Silk is a wonderful fabric that will keep you warm in the winter, and is lightweight enough to use in the summer as a splash of color. The soft feel of this natural fabric that is uniquely painted will brighten your day.
As a child, my grandmother taught me to crochet. I am honoring her memory creating this form of wearable art. My wire crochet jewelry uses natural chip gemstones, fresh water pearls, or Swarovski crystals. Each gemstone is carefully selected and placed on the wire and crocheted to produce a unique piece. Wire crochet jewelry has flexibility, movement, and is lightweight yet strong.
Sometimes life is difficult and we all need a little support. My art line uplifts, encourages, supports and comforts. Handwritten quotes on my silk scarves or words on my jewelry provide reminders that we are not alone. My hope is that the words gently touch your spirit.
